ABOUT

MaugeDesign has been delivering custom book cover designs since 2016. We have worked with numerous clients locally and internationally, and our designs have won several awards, including most recently for our ebook covers. Our goal is to capture the essence of your story through our cover designs.

Our team of graphic designers hold professional degrees in graphic design from recognized US universities, which ensures that we have a strong foundation in graphic design fundamentals, problem-solving, design-thinking skills, and the software technology used in design.

At MaugeDesign, we pride ourselves on our personalized approach. We work closely with each author, taking the time to understand their needs. In fact, we even read portions of their manuscript to ensure that we get it right the first time. If you are looking for a book design team that specializes in paperback, wraparound book covers (also known as book jackets), and/or ebook covers, we’ve got you covered.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring our clients' creative visions to life through dedication, expertise, and a commitment to excellence. As passionate graphic designers and educators, we design, teach, consult, and author textbooks—most recently releasing two new titles on graphic design. By actively listening and asking insightful questions, we ensure every project reflects our clients' unique ideas. Through continuous learning and innovation, we strive to deliver exceptional results and lasting satisfaction to clients around the world.

Celebrating a milestone in 2006: Carole Maugé-Lewis with her talented former Kennesaw State University student, Diana Banes who now owns Banes Creative Design, after Diana’s award-winning success in the state poster competition for the "Jeans for Justice" campaign. A proud moment for all!

CAROLE
MAUGÉ-LEWIS

OWNER, LEAD DESIGNER

Carole, an experienced designer and professor, has made a significant impact on many people's lives. Even as a Professor Emerita at Kennesaw State University (KSU), her passion for design and teaching remains strong. Carole has been recognized for her teaching excellence, receiving the Distinguished Teaching Award twice in the School of the Arts at KSU. She has also been acknowledged by GDUSA, a prestigious organization providing news and information to graphic designers and the creative community since 1963, as both an "Educator to Watch" and a "Person to Watch" and was recently listed among their “60 Years of GDUSA People to Watch.” Carole continues to inspire young minds in graphic design and has recently published two debut books, "So! You Want to Become a Graphic Designer" and “So! I’m a New Graphic Designer. What’s Next?” both geared towards high schoolers, graphic designers, and graphic design professors.

Carole was very instrumental in the development of the Graphic Communication concentration at KSU. and coordinated it for over two decades until her retirement. Her teaching philosophy focused on learning graphic design programs, building a strong foundation in design fundamentals, problem-solving, and design-thinking. She aimed to motivate and empower her students to succeed in a rapidly changing and diverse world, helping them find fulfilling careers. Carole was known for her direct and no-nonsense approach in the classroom, setting high standards for her students. She also entered their excellent designs in design competitions, resulting in multiple awards. It is worth mentioning that the School of Art and Design at KSU has consistently been recognized as one of GDUSA's Top Design Schools since 2015. Carole continues to teach part-time, maintaining the same high standards for her online students as she did in the classroom. And, she continues to win in-house design awards for MAUGEDESIGN.

Many of Carole's students have gone on to thrive as Art Directors, Brand Managers, Web Designers, and Marketing Specialists in the graphic design field. Some have secured impressive positions at companies such as Disney, Facebook, and Apple, while others have started their own design businesses.
